Teachers' Training College for Women (D.EL.ED Course) Unit-I
In the year 1950 Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sarisha, started Women Primary Teachers' Training College for Nimna Buniady Schools. Now it was functioning as a college for Diploma in Elementary Education. This is one of the Pioneer Colleges for the training of the teachers of Primary/ Junior Basic and Senior Basic Schools in thearea. The no. of teaching and non-teaching faculties is 12 including the Principal. A separate library is also running under this training collegehaving 4896 books. Number of students of this training institute is limited to 100 i.e. 50 per year of which 22% SC, 6% ST, 18% OBC, 2% Vocational, 2% Physically Handicapped etc. 5% reserved for deputed teachers. Elementary level subjects of schools with pedagogy are the main emphasis of learning with basic computer practices. The special intervention was the creative and productive Physical Education, Music etc. as performing art. How to organize an event or programme or Sports was trained with participation. Observance of important days like 15th august, 26th January, Rabindra Jayanti, 23rd January- birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, 12th January; the National Youth Day etc. are the important programmes with mandatory participation of the students. The training College also organizes cultural activities like Drama, Music, Recitation etc. in its annual function and Pre Puja celebration. Educational Tour is also conducted and above all a printed magazine is published by the students.

Primary Teachers' Training College for Women (D.EL.ED Course): Unit- II
Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sarisha started the second unit of Teachers' Training College for Women for Uchha Buniady Schools in the year 1965. Later on, it became the College for Diploma in Elementary Education. From the very beginning it is one of the special performing colleges in the field of Teachers' Education in the State. Being located in the Sarada Mandir Campus, it has a well-designed building having a long prayer hall and a well-equipped library with 5115 books. Number of seats of this training institute is also limited to 100 i.e. 50 22% SC, 6%ST, 18% OBC, 2% Vocational, 2% Physically Handicapped etc. per year with 5% reserved for deputed teachers. The total no. of teaching and non-teaching faculties is 11.
Elementary level schools subjects with pedagogy are the main emphasis of learning with basic computer practices. The course curriculum also contains Physical education, Preparation of teaching - learning materials, craftwork, Bratachari (action songs and action rhymes,) Community living and other creative activities. It is worth mentioning that under the guidance of the faculties of the colleges, the women trainees themselves organize different programmes and performing different events with much joy and happiness throughout the year. In all the programmes the trainee teachers participate wholeheartedly and spontaneously. The colleges also observe separately the Independence day, the Republic day, the 26th September - Birthday of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, 12th January-the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda, 23rd January-the Birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, 25th Baishak-the Birthday of Rabindranath Tagore etc. Worship of Devi Saraswati was one of the important programmes for the units. The trainees themselves organise games and sports in the month of January in each year. This unit emphasis on Bratachari (action songs & action rhymes), Physical education, Community living, folk dance along with gardening, drawing, painting, music, cultural and many other creative activities.
