Swami Vivekananda immensely emphasized on education, both for male and female members of oursociety. Without women's education, a society cannot proceed. Hence, from the very inception, arranging education for girls is one of the important activities of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sarisha. In those days, men could not think the education of women. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sarisha, then being located at the remote and backward part of the district started a Non Formal Primary School for girls in the year 1923 which shaped into a School in 1927 and became a school aided by Government of West Bengal from the year 1961 - 62. 32 lady teachers and non-teaching staff run the school headed by the Headmistress. Two special subjects 'Indian Culture' and 'Value Education' are within the purview of the course curriculum of the school which is being taught by the lady teachers themselves. Every year the school also conducts its Annual function where collage of songs, dances and recitations is presented by the students followed by the enactment of drama. The annual sports of the school held in a colorful manner in the school playground, which enrich the students with different games of Sub Junior, Junior, Intermediate and Senior groups of students of Primary and Secondary Schools with attractive group dance, Lezim drills, pyramid demonstration etc. The most attractive programme of the annual sport is Tug - Of -War between teachers and students of class X. Moreover, the school observes different important days like 12th January, Rabindra Jayanti, Teachers' day, Netaji's birthday, Independence Day, Republic day etc. Both the teachers and the students are participated in cultural activities, and they conducted different cultural programmes like music, dance - drama, recitation, quiz etc. throughout the year. A textbook library is running under the aegis of the school which has 1162 textbooks. 2 daily newspapers are taken for library of the school.
The Higher Secondary Unit has started from 2023 with the roll strength of 250 with Science & Arts faculties. Science Stream provides Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Bioscience, and Computer Science and Arts Stream provides Computer Application, Nutrition, Geography, History, Political Science and Philosophy. The Institution has new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Lab and along with the Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Nutrition.
